Albert de Jong – Owner at Albert and Associates

Albert de Jong is a persistent & passionate perfectionist Anglophile, driven and respected, committed to build a structured environment for achieving result.

Albert has been in line and support roles in the planning and realisation of domestic and international construction projects in notably the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Middle Eastern countries, Germany and Northern Africa. He came to work and live in UK on secondment from the Dutch construction group Ballast Nedam when he joined Ballast Wiltshier in April 1996 as Director of Management Services.

His initial roles were to structure, implement & promote the use of Information Technology, Business Systems and Process Improvements and to put Management Development Programmes in place. He has been with Ballast Nedam overall for 19 years. Before that he has worked in various positions and locations in Holland, Germany, Algeria and Dubai with what today is known as Royal Volker Wessels (RVW), another Dutch construction group. He stayed for 19 years with RVW, out of which he was seconded to international (German-Dutch and Anglo-Dutch) Joint Ventures in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Dubai for over 14 years.

During his time in the UK, Albert has played an extensive role in the design and development of Ballast Wiltshier’s Intermediate and Advanced Management Development Programmes and he has been the prime mover in setting up these industry recognised development programmes. In 2002 Albert assumed responsibility for all of Training. Albert and his team planned a comprehensive Junior Management Scheme for levels of trainee entrant at school leaver, graduate, and technician level.

Albert is married (1968) with 3 children (1970, 1972, 1983) and remains in the UK as principal of Albert and Associates Ltd. He is currently (2006) engaged with Constructing Excellence in the Build Environment initiative, Reddin OMD (Organisation for Managerial Development), Metropole Marketing Ltd Management Consultancy (in benchmarking projects), Bouwend Nederland (the Netherlands association of builders and constructors) in benchmarking programmes, Giken Silent Piling (Europe) in recruitment and Consolidated Engineering Construction Company CECC of Amman, Jordan in contract management & procurement.
